Zeng Xianghong and his delegation went to relevant universities in Chongqing and Chengdu for research and exchange

Professor Zeng Xianghong, Vice Dean of the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University, teacher Li Zhengfeng, teacher of the school, and Dr. Li Liang, a teacher of the school, went to relevant universities in Chongqing and Sichuan to conduct investigation and exchange on organized scientific research, personnel training, and discipline construction. On May 23, Professor Zeng Xianghong and his delegation visited the School of International Relations of Sichuan International Studies University and held a discussion with Vice Dean Professor Wu Bing, Associate Professor Xi Guigui, Associate Professor Zhou Siyi, Associate Professor Guo Bingyun, Associate Professor You Han, Dr. Tang Yu and Dr. Yu Yajie. Professor Wu Bing introduced the development process from the establishment of the Department of Chinese for Foreign Studies in 1982 to the establishment of the School of International Relations in 2009, and the situation of the School of International Relations in disciplines, personnel training and organized scientific research. He also focused on the 3+1 "International Organization Talents" experimental class set up by Sichuan International Studies University and University of Essex in 2003, sharing the successful experience of the two-pronged training model of language and discipline and the introduction of third-party institutions to provide internship and employment platforms for students in the experimental class. Ms. Chen Liya introduced the practical teaching achievements of our school in holding Model United Nations, Model Diplomat and other activities and winning awards in national diplomatic and foreign affairs professional competitions. Subsequently, the two sides exchanged and interacted on undergraduate personnel training, scientific research, discipline construction and other issues. Professor Zeng Xianghong said that when the country is vigorously building a new land-sea corridor, universities in southwest and northwest should strengthen the linkage, hoping that the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University and the School of International Relations of Sichuan International Studies University can strengthen cooperation in academic conferences and joint scientific research in the future.

On May 24, Professor Zeng Xianghong and his delegation visited the School of International Relations of Sichuan University and held a discussion with the Dean Professor Li Zhiqiang, Associate Professor Shen Ying and Dr. Wang Yiqun. President Li Zhiqiang introduced that Sichuan University has a long history in the field of political science and international issues research, and in 2016, more than 10 research institutions on campus were integrated to establish the School of International Relations, which started a new journey of international relations research and talent training at Sichuan University. After seven years of development, the School of International Relations has formed a teaching, research and think tank team with a reasonable academic structure and age echelon. It has also hosted the "China-India High-level Track II Dialogue" and co-hosted the "Yangtze River - Volga River" university Alliance and think Tank Alliance between China and Russia, playing an important role in China's relevant diplomatic work. Subsequently, the two sides exchanged views on how to conduct organized scientific research, promote collaborative development between research teams and research institutions, and promote high-level foreign exchanges. Professor Zeng Xianghong said that the School of International Relations of Sichuan University and the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University are both newly established young colleges, and also have a profound accumulation in regional and country studies, and President Li Zhiqiang's detailed introduction of the experience of Sichuan University National Customs Institute is of great reference significance for the construction of the School of Politics and International Relations of Lanzhou University.

This visit enhanced the understanding between our college and other sister colleges such as Sichuan International Studies University and Sichuan University, which is conducive to the exchange and mutual learning of their respective advantages and characteristics, and also laid a certain foundation for the in-depth cooperation between our college and these institutions in the future.
